Rebuilding New Orleans by establishing the right connections with the outside world...

It's been a year since Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans. It also wiped out my original plans to officially launch NewOrleansConnections.com, on which I had planned to publish the "Night Crawler's Guide to New Orleans Nightlife". Despite my personal and financial losses I remained in the area and continued to invest my time and money in an attempt to finish what I started. Like many of the other people who live down here I am both stubborn and resilient.

It has now been a year since Katrina, and finally many of the bars, restaurants, and businesses are starting to come back, especially those in Metairie, where I live. So at this point my goal is to again attempt to publish the Night Crawler's Guide to New Orleans Nightlife, and continue to profile all the bars and restaurants in the New Orleans Metro Area, as they come back on line. My project is again viable and now I see it as even more necessary.

The rest of the world needs to realize that New Orleans is still functional and that its people are determined to solve its problems. If I sit back and do nothing, I would be negligent in my responsibility to others. Perhaps it is just my opinion, but I feel everyone should do more than just stand around and watch, as others do nothing but whine and complain. Often people who perceive their situation as hopeless suffer the fate of being helpless. I choose not to live my life as a victim of fate...

In renewing my decision to publish the Night Crawler's Guide to New Orleans Nightlife I realized that I would be putting the balance of my financial resources at risk. However, I realized it was necessary in spite of my reluctance and the criticism of some family members and friends.

The experience I gained going to bars and restaurants almost every night for the last 2½ years has been very informative and rewarding but extremely costly. However, I saw and continue to see the necessity of putting my money where my mouth is in order to demonstrate my absolute commitment to this business venture.

NewOrleansConnections.com is soon to become a unique environment and will initially host The Night Crawler's Guide to New Orleans Nightlife. It will be a comprehensive resource, whereby people can find detailed information about the bar, food service and hospitality industries. After all, without these industries New Orleans would be just another mediocre city, and not worth the money and effort to rebuild it.

Perhaps at this point it would be appropriate to describe what I envision... NewOrleansConnections.com will start off slow and initially it will look somewhat dilapidated and in need of serious renovation (after all nothing, with the exception of a couple of pages, was done to the site since Hurricane Katrina). However as its reconstruction gets underway things will start changing at an extremely rapid pace. This is necessary as I plan on continuing to fund this project with my own financial resources and the marketing fees I will be charging my clients as they sign up for membership. As NewOrleansConnections.com acquires new members its usefulness will become extremely obvious. As more people start using the resources the more potential clients will see the advantage of having their establishment listed. As clients start to experience the financial benefits of their membership the more eager they will be to make referrals to other bar and restaurant owners and managers. As NewOrleansConnections.com achieves critical mass many new features will explode into existence and no longer will Internet users have to use inferior resources to find information about New Orleans, its bars, its nightlife, its restaurants, its hotels and other accommodations.

Yes, it is my goal to host the profiles of every bar and restaurant located in New Orleans and the surrounding areas. Indeed it appears to be a difficult task, but it needs to be done. So while everyone else is whining and complaining, or just standing around and watching I will demonstrate what real Internet Marketing is all about.

New Orleans needs to again become a "World Class City" and the rest of the world needs to witness its progress.
